Welcome to Looking Back Through the Windows of Time digital exhibit on the history of the University of North Carolina Wilmington Library. It emerged from a partnership between the digital initiatives unit and Center for Southeast North Carolina Archives and History.
The following pages take the viewer on a journey starting in 1947 upon the opening of Wilmington College to the present-day expansion and renovation. Included in the pages are little pieces of history on library stewardship and operations.
I want to thank Adina Riggins, University Archivist and Rebecca Baugnon, Interim Associate Director for allowing me to take the banners created for the groundbreaking for the expansion in May 2022 and expanding on them by designing this exhibit for alumni, community members and individuals interested in library history who are unable to visit the campus.
